This retreat will focus on movement and meditation practices for generating vitality and science behind them. Dr. Hanna Poikonen will share the latest brain and health research about physical and emotional wellbeing and we deepen our knowledge with embodied exercises on creative movement and meditation in movement.

The WiseMotion retreat will be a combination of joyful and calming movement exercises, insightful scientific discoveries and group conversations. We will understand how our brain processes our senses, creates harmony and reaches high performance over a long time span. We understand and experience how to regain our vitality, and most of all, how to collaborate at work, home and leisure through joy. We learn meditation and movement practices to enhance mental clarity, cognitive performance and social interaction and understand these processes in the brain.

Tohtori Hanna Poikonen

Hanna on neurotieteilijä, tanssija ja WiseMotion-menetelmän kehittäjä. Hän on väittellyt tohtoriksi tanssin ja musiikin neurotieteestä Helsingin yliopiston Lääketieteellisestä tiedekunnasta. Tällä hetkellä Hanna jatkaa väitöskirjanjälkeistä tutkimustaan ETH Zürichissä oppimisen ja korkeakoulutuksen parissa keskittyen keholliseen kognitioon ja Örebron yliopistollisessa sairaalassa Ruotsissa perehtyen luovaan liikkeeseen ja mielenterveyteen. Hän on opiskellut nykytanssia, kamppailulajeja ja liikemeditaatiota New Yorkissa, Montrealissa, Tokiossa, Barcelonassa, Berliinissä ja Helsingissä.

Hanna on opettanut WiseMotion-menetelmää maailmanlaajuisesti konferensseissa esimerkiksi Harvard Medical Schoolissa (Yhdysvallat) ja Global Wellness Summitissa (Yhdysvallat) ja festivaaleilla, resorteissa ja instituutioissa kuten Sanitas Mayores (Espanja), Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (Espanja), Gibney Dance (New York City), Six Senses Douro Valley (Portugali) ja Alive Wellness (Hong Kong) sekä verkkoalustoilla kuten Dublin Dance Festivalin Digital Capsule 2020 ja International Association for Dance Medicine & Science iConference 2020.
